The project involves the restoration of a building in the historic center of Valsorda for the construction of a single-family house. The existing house is characterized by a stretched plan developed on four levels connected by outside stairs and balconies. With the new project the aim is to adopt the same distribution scheme, with the construction of a new staircase adjoining the north wall of the building; in this way, the bedrooms area is located on the first floor while the living area occupies the second and third floor, which are equipped with better lighting and views. Among them, the living area levels are connected through a double height space in the living room. The materials used are those typical of the local architecture such lime plaster and larch wood.
